What is an Addiction Coalition Chapter?
A group of students committed to raising awareness amongst peers in an effort
to reduce teen drug abuse and addiction.
What’s the purpose of an Addiction Coalition Chapter?
- Recruit people to take the pledge and join the Addiction Coalition.
- Plan a quarterly service project to help those affected by addiction.
- Meet once a month to discuss new projects and ideas (i.e. marketing, service projects, school assembly, guest speakers, etc.).
- Educate members about the growing problem of addiction.
- Sponsor events around Red Ribbon Week (October).
Why are the Addiction Coalition Chapters important?
Within our community, the problem of drug and alcohol abuse among youth
is rising and damaging our future. The community needs leaders like you
to start a movement within your generation, to change the norm and create
positive peer pressure.
What do we do?
As a part of the Youth Advisory Council, the Addiction Coalition Chapters
broaden personal perspectives for better community advocacy, become a
voice to stand against substance abuse in the next generation and encourage
our friends to join the cause.
