"To the ones suffering from this disease, please believe me when I say, “life is so much fun as long as you can get through the withdrawals.”  Sure, I do think about getting high every now and again but I know once will turn into years if I would be lucky enough to make it back."

"...my baby girl entered the world by emergency c-section weighing only 3 pounds, with several birth defects, and had to have open-heart surgery before her first birthday. Barely old enough to drive, going to work, going to school, and taking care of a child seemed impossible, until my manager at work introduced me to crystal methamphetamine. For two years I was a functional meth addict, stopped, gained weight, and rationalized my relapse as a weight loss program. Ten years after my addiction started, my dad told me that I had a God shaped hole in my heart and I could keep trying to fill it with everything of the world but it wasn’t going to fit, I needed God. He was right."

"I had my first son at age 21, and when he was 4 months old I found out I was pregnant with my second son. Two years later I had my daughter. I couldn't give them the love that they needed because I didn't know what love was. I went from one relationship to the next looking for a love that can only be found in Christ."

"I wanted to change the way I felt even as a child – any way I knew how, or always willing to try something new, something exciting, something dangerous.  It's no wonder that by the time I reached my teens that I was willing to experiment with drugs and alcohol.  I discovered that I loved the way they made me feel and loved that feeling for a very ….long …time.  The consequences were not so much at first, but after years and years of drug use and abuse, the consequences became insurmountable."

"After a while, I started to actually read my Bible and pray a little bit, although I wasn't sure anyone was listening. It is absolutely amazing how patient and loving God is, even when you are fighting Him so strongly. As time went by, I found myself beginning to be truly happy for the first time in a very long time. I was no longer reading the Word and praying only to pass the time; I was doing it because I wanted to."

My dad was in a dry drunk until I was about 8 years old. That is around the same time that I first remember exhibiting behaviors that could be called classified with OCD. Also during that time, my dad had been having an affair and my mother told me she was suicidal.

Hey y'all, I'm Lindsey (obviously) lol. I have been through alot in my life, which everyone has. I have suffered from substance abuse, physical, mental, and emotional abuse. If you name it, there is a possibility that I have suffered from it in some way, but I am a living testimony that GOD can deliver you from anything. I no longer have a desire for drugs, and I'm at peace, and finally I am not worried about getting beat up everytime I turn around. THERE IS NO HIGH LIKE THE MOST HIGH! I finally have a job, it's not what I would have picked, but it's a job (and it's my first one sober in almost 3 years). June 29th, I went into detox for methamphamine use, I got to come home on July 5th. I thought I could it alone, but I couldn't I was still wanting to use and all, but I know that I shouldn't. I check myself into The Lovelady Center, and I have been here 2 months, and I can't begin to tell you how much my live has changed, and how God has blessed me. IF I CAN DO IT, I KNOW THAT YOU CAN TOO!!!! It takes a little work, but if you can be all into drugs and let them run your life, THEN WHY CAN'T YOU LIKE GOD RUN YOUR LIFE, cause anything is possible with HIM!! And I MEAN ANYTHING!! I have to go for now, but I'll write more tomorrow!! Y'all have a BLESSED DAY!!
